Sun Style Tai Chi for Beginners

Every first Tuesday, 11 AM – 12 PM
RWP Botanical Center

Every first Tuesday of the month, certified instructor Colleen Shea will lead a beginner-friendly class focused on Sun Style Tai Chi. Tai Chi is a rejuvenating art practiced for its proven evidence-based benefits. Make some friends, take care of your body, and enjoy a day in the greenhouses.

Registration is required. Please register by emailing [email protected]. Note: There is a required $5 admission fee for the Botanical Center paid onsite at the ticket booth.

Classes are sponsored by AARP/RI in collaboration with City of Providence Fitness in the Parks; FREE to all participants.

Bring your yoga mat, comfy clothes, and open mind to relax in the shade of the historic Sycamore tree in front of the Betsey Williams Cottage. This 18+ class intends to be an accessible, inclusive, and welcoming space for all bodies – no experience necessary!

Free weekly classes will be held Monday evenings at 6 PM, from July 13-Sept. 7 (except Aug. 31), weather depending; no sign-up needed. Follow here for updates!

Inspired by Movies in the Park happening at the Boathouse Lawn tonight, we created a short film of our own reminiscing about Rosé in the Roses last month!

Our biennial garden party fundraiser event raised (🥁🥁)... $15,000! Those proceeds will go toward hosting free programming and creating community at Roger Williams Park all year long, from movie nights to concerts and more. Groovin` Summer Movies continues this Friday, July 3, with "Sing" (2016)! Start the holiday weekend off right by heading over to Food Truck Friday (kicks off at 5 PM) for karaoke and easy dinner plans at Carousel Village, and then make your way to the Boathouse Lawn for the movie, starting at sundown!

We`re in for a week of hot weather, which means there`s no better time to be outside than later in the evening when the temps drop – but it doesn`t hurt to bring your own water and bug spray!
