Free Soil Testing at RWP Botanical Center

First Saturday of the month, 10:00 am – 1:00 pm

This program will happen *every Saturday morning from 10am-1pm (except July and August). Bring your soil samples on March 1, April 5, May 3, June 7, September 6, October 4.

URI Master Gardeners are coming back! Starting March 1, URI master Gardener volunteers will test visitor’s soil’s pH.

Soil testing for pH helps:

Determine which types of nutrients are available for plants to absorb through their root systems.
Ensure optimal plant growth and crop yield by allowing nutrients to be freely available.
Encourage proper root development and nutrition distribution.
Maintain a healthy amount of microbial activity in the soil.
