Forest Bathing (Shinrin Yoku): An Invitation to Slow Down

Saturday, September 19, 10-11 AM
RWP Botanical Center

This event is free, but limited admission. Register here.

Step away from the noise of everyday life and spend an hour reconnecting with yourself and the natural world through the gentle practice of forest bathing. This guided experience invites you to slow down, breathe deeply, notice your surroundings, and open your senses to the sights, sounds, textures, and rhythms of the forest. There is nothing to accomplish and no experience necessary, just an open mind, an open heart, and a willingness to be present.

Lee Ann Freitas is a Certified Forest Therapist, horticulturist, and a hardcore advocate for all things nature. She creates a welcoming and peaceful environment for participants to slow down, connect with nature, and be present.

Class size is limited to 15 participants to create an intimate and peaceful experience.

What to Bring

  • Comfortable clothing that also provides protection from insects, including ticks and mosquitoes
  • Sunscreen
  • Hat
  • Water bottle
  • Journal
  • Something to write with
  • Yoga mat

Please leave technology behind. Phones and other devices will be set aside so you can be fully present with yourself, the group, and the forest. The class is approximately one hour, though it may occasionally run a little longer. We allow space for the experience to unfold naturally and honor each person’s journey rather than rushing the process. Please meet in the RWP Botanical Center main parking lot.
