Botanical Center End of Summer Celebration

Join Roger Williams Park Botanical Center and Bwana Iguana Reptile Adventure for an interactive reptile experience to celebrate the end of summer. Learn about reptiles and amphibians in a presentation at 12:00 PM and try reptile-themed crafts before and after the show. $5 admission per person.

Other things to do at the Botanical Center:

  • See what’s blooming in the Perennial Garden
  • Check out the Carnivorous Plant Bog
  • Discover resident frogs, turtles and koi fish and meet goats Salvador, Vincent Van Goat & Jean Ralphio
  • Read a story in the Parallel Worlds Garden

In August, we took a tour of the Roger Williams Park Produce Donation Garden with garden leaders Kim and Deb to see what they were harvesting! Sponsored by the @rwpbotanicalcenter and run by volunteer @urimastergardeners, this flourishing vegetable garden feeds the community by growing and donating fresh, organic produce to local food banks and kitchens, and serves as public education.

They’re on track to grow over 3,500 pounds of food this year! 🍅🫑

The resourceful team of volunteers relies on help from the community. Visit the link in bio to learn more and see their wishlist of items ranging from lumber and hardware cloth to tools and supplies.

Thank you to @ocean_state_ellary for hosting Monday evening gentle yoga sessions these past couple of months, and to everyone who joined us on the lawn outside the Betsey Williams Cottage! As the evenings get cooler, we`re ending the season a little early, so we won`t be gathering next Monday, September 21. Enjoy the start of autumn! 🍂

September means it`s International Coastal Cleanup season – you`ll be among thousands of participants worldwide collecting and documenting what you pick up to contribute important data on marine (including watershed) debris, while helping beautify your favorite park!
