Join us for a discussion on this month’s pick, Reef by Romesh Gunesekera. This Booker Prize-shortlisted novel tells the story of Triton, a young Sri-Lankan houseboy who becomes a devoted chef for a marine biologist, Mr. Salgado, while political unrest brews in the background. It’s a story of love, loss, and memory, exploring the contrast between a seemingly idyllic paradise and the harsh political reality, with themes of identity and colonialism.
Bring your thoughts and feelings on the novel to discuss on Sunday, June 14. Don’t worry if you didn’t finish the book, you’re still welcome to join us for a lively discussion and plenty of banter!
