The annual Hike and Build event is back!

During winter break, bring your family for a fun day of wintry exploration and creativity! On an easy outdoor walk, staff members will help you find the best natural materials for your fairy house. Then, we’ll go back inside to the workshop and build scenes for a celestial Fairy World.

Bring your fairy house creation back in March to get free tickets to Fairy Garden Days. Your house will be displayed in the community exhibit at Fairy Garden Days 2026.

One (1) Hike and Build ticket is valid for groups of one to four people. Tickets include all fairy house materials and admission to the Botanical Center.

In August, we took a tour of the Roger Williams Park Produce Donation Garden with garden leaders Kim and Deb to see what they were harvesting! Sponsored by the @rwpbotanicalcenter and run by volunteer @urimastergardeners, this flourishing vegetable garden feeds the community by growing and donating fresh, organic produce to local food banks and kitchens, and serves as public education.

They’re on track to grow over 3,500 pounds of food this year! 🍅🫑

The resourceful team of volunteers relies on help from the community. Visit the link in bio to learn more and see their wishlist of items ranging from lumber and hardware cloth to tools and supplies.

Thank you to @ocean_state_ellary for hosting Monday evening gentle yoga sessions these past couple of months, and to everyone who joined us on the lawn outside the Betsey Williams Cottage! As the evenings get cooler, we`re ending the season a little early, so we won`t be gathering next Monday, September 21. Enjoy the start of autumn! 🍂

September means it`s International Coastal Cleanup season – you`ll be among thousands of participants worldwide collecting and documenting what you pick up to contribute important data on marine (including watershed) debris, while helping beautify your favorite park!
