Fitness in the Park 2019

 

The Roger Williams Park Conservancy is excited to partner with the City of Providence and Providence Parks Department once again for Fitness in the Parks, FREE summer fitness classes offered in parks across the City.

This is a great opportunity to get out and get active this summer, and perhaps try something new. Roger Williams Park is hosting four weekly classes – join us for one or more! Be sure to check the Conservancy’s website and social media for any weather-related cancellations.

Yoga
Mondays, through September 16
6:30-7:30 PM
Location: Temple to Music (map)
This introductory vinyasa flow class is open to all levels, from beginners to advanced, and will move at a gentle pace to establish strength, flexibility, and balance within a continuous sequence of postures. The class supports healthy alignment while honoring and exploring the connection between movement, breath and mindfulness. Please bring your own mat.

Belly Dance
Tuesdays, July 9-August 27
6:00-6:45 PM
Location: Dalrymple Boathouse lawn (map)
This adult belly dance class is appropriate for all levels of fitness. Mature teens with an accompanying adult are welcome. Please dress comfortably.

Core Conditioning
Wednesdays, July 10-August 28
4:15-5:00 PM
Location: Dalrymple Boathouse lawn (map)
Walk taller, feel stronger! This class is designed to build core muscle groups while improving posture through performing a variety of exercises that strengthen the core and back muscles and increase flexibility. Please bring a mat and water.

HIIT
Thursdays, July 11-August 29
5:45-6:15 PM
Location: Dalrymple Boathouse lawn (map)
This HIIT class (high intensity interval training) features 30 minute, non-choreographed, bodyweight-only workouts that set the metabolism on fire. Bring a towel and water.

It’s officially one month until Rosé in the Roses on June 11! 🌹We can’t wait to see everyone dressed in their garden party best – including statement-making headwear! Thank you to all the fashionistas who attended our Fascinator Workshop at the Botanical Center and created some show-stopping floral accessories with the help of instructor Michelle Carden. 

Even if you missed the workshop, you have full permission to get creative with your Rosé look! Get your tickets by the end of May to enjoy an evening of mingling at the @rwpbotanicalcenter and Rose Maze, delicious bites by Ellie’s Bakery and Morin’s Catering, Mahjong with the @thegildedbirds, entertainment from the @theprovidencedrumtroupe, live music by @luisgilbertord and Ashley Frith, and more!
