At the Botanical Center (map)

Angela Deller, a URI Master Gardener and licensed RI Certified Horticulturist, will share techniques for pruning perennials. Pruning techniques may be used to control or increase plant growth, train plants, extend the flowering season and tidy up foliage. Learn how to use these methods in your own garden to enhance the beauty of the planted beds and see the results of pruning techniques used by volunteers at the Botanical Center.

Program is offered free to the public. Pre-register 24 hours in advance by emailing [email protected].

We're so excited to welcome Julie Gearan back for another Slow Looking in Color and Line workshop at Roger Williams Park! This time, we're gathering at the Rose Garden (near the Elmwood Ave. entrance, and across the street from the Betsey Williams Cottage) on Sunday, October 18, 12-2 PM.

Just bring yourself, your creative spirit, and a chair (if you'd like) to this free drawing workshop. All experience levels welcome, and supplies are provided!

Thank you to @risca1967 for helping make this event possible!
Whether you're a mom, or appreciate a mom in your life, we want to see you at a film screening of No Country for Mothers on October 22 at 6 PM!

Roger Williams Park Conservancy is hosting a screening of this impactful documentary created by @momsfirstus about what motherhood looks like in America today, at the @rwpbotanicalcenter.

Joining us for the screening and a Q&A panel after the film are representatives from local organizations @collectiveactionri, @rikidscount, and @unitedwayri. This open dialogue and opportunity for resource-sharing is designed to embody the film's premise: that motherhood in America is not a private struggle but a collective one.

This event is free and open to the public! Learn more and RSVP online (link in bio): https://www.rwpconservancy.org/event/film-screening-of-no-country-for-mothers/
