Goat Volunteer Program training

Did you know that Roger Williams Park has three dwarf Nigerian goats who help to control poison ivy and other invasive plant species at the Park? The Park’s Botanical Center seeks goat volunteers to help feed them, clean their barn, and walk them to grazing sites.

If you would like to participate in the goat volunteer program, please call (401) 680-7263 or email bcinformation@providenceri.gov. Also visit the City’s Botanical Center webpage and fill out the Goat Volunteer Application to bring with you to the volunteer training.

Skip a trip to the grocery store and head to the RWP Gateway Center this Saturday, August 1, 9 AM-12 PM, for the @africanallianceofrhodeisland Pop-Up Farmers Market, and support local farmers!

Shop locally grown produce, farm-fresh eggs, and seasonal fruits, and enjoy music from DJ Flip and learn more about community resources. WIC, SFMNP, SNAP (Double Up Food Bucks), Square, and more are accepted.
