Step out of the rain and into Walktober month at Roger Williams Park!

Starting this Thursday, October 1, you can win prizes for reaching mileage goals. Keep track of your steps using the free STRAVA app (or method of your choice), and submit your MILEstone achievements of 6, 13.1, and 26.2 miles for a chance to win free tickets to the @rwpbotanicalcenter, @rwpzoo Holiday Lights, a seasonal Family Skating pass at the @providencerink, or park swag.

Hit the RWP trails for your daily walk, and get extra steps in by signing up for these events with @rwpmuseum, @stormwaterinnovationcenter, and our Friday Partner Peace Walks with @nonviolenceinstitute! Learn more and sign up by following the link in bio.

Head over to the Temple to Music next Wednesday, September 30, from 12-2 PM to make art inspired by the beauty of the park! Julie Gearan hosts a free art activity, Slow Looking in Color and Line, with all the supplies provided. All experience levels are welcome!

In August, we took a tour of the Roger Williams Park Produce Donation Garden with garden leaders Kim and Deb to see what they were harvesting! Sponsored by the @rwpbotanicalcenter and run by volunteer @urimastergardeners, this flourishing vegetable garden feeds the community by growing and donating fresh, organic produce to local food banks and kitchens, and serves as public education.

They’re on track to grow over 3,500 pounds of food this year! 🍅🫑

The resourceful team of volunteers relies on help from the community. Visit the link in bio to learn more and see their wishlist of items ranging from lumber and hardware cloth to tools and supplies.

As the evenings get cooler, we're ending the season a little early, so we won't be gathering next Monday, September 21. Enjoy the start of autumn! 🍂
