Volunteer: Shoreline Restoration on Roosevelt Lake

On June 2, 2022 at 3:30 PM until 5:00 PM the Providence Parks Department, Roger Williams Park Conservancy, and Save the Bay will be planting wetland plants in and around Roosevelt Pond. You are invited to lend a hand and help restore this beautiful and natural feature of Roger Williams Park. Your hard work will improve the habitat and the appearance of the lake, and it is a great way to meet people. This is a rain or shine event so please dress for the weather, and for mud; clamming boots or waders would be useful! We will meet at “parking area” near the Seal House and Japanese Garden. Just bring yourself, your creative spirit, and a chair (if you`d like) to this free drawing workshop. All experience levels welcome, and supplies are provided!

Roger Williams Park Conservancy is hosting a screening of this impactful documentary created by @momsfirstus about what motherhood looks like in America today, at the @rwpbotanicalcenter.

Joining us for the screening and a Q&A panel after the film are representatives from local organizations @collectiveactionri, @rikidscount, and @unitedwayri. This open dialogue and opportunity for resource-sharing is designed to embody the film`s premise: that motherhood in America is not a private struggle but a collective one.
