Summer Craft Nights at Gateway

at the RWP Gateway Center

This monthly craft night takes place in the Roger Williams Park Gateway Center’s bright, breezy hybrid indoor-outdoor space that opens onto a gorgeous backyard. Bring a project — knitting, crochet, embroidery, hand sewing, or anything portable — and enjoy good company, music, and fresh air. This is not a class or workshop; it’s a communal space to work on ongoing projects, share tips, and meet neighbors.

This program is free and open to all. It’s designed especially for neighbors in Washington Park, South Providence, and Elmwood. If you’re joining us from outside the area and have the means, consider making a small donation to help us keep this program accessible.

Limited craft materials and light refreshments may be provided. Advanced registration preferred but drop-ins may join. While the event is designed with adults in mind, all ages are welcome.

As the seasons begin to change, it`s a great time to reconnect with the natural world and slow down. We`re excited to partner with the @rwpbotanicalcenter to offer a free Forest Bathing (Shinrin Yoku) session on September 19 at 10 AM with Lee Ann. This guided experience invites you to breathe deeply, notice your surroundings, and open your senses to the sights, sounds, textures, and rhythms of the forest.

Lee Ann Freitas is the director of the Botanical Center and a Certified Forest Therapist, horticulturist, and a hardcore advocate for all things nature. She creates a welcoming and peaceful environment for participants to slow down, connect with nature, and be present.

The session is free, but registration is limited – sign up online (link in bio)!
