Stormwater Walking Tour at Roger Williams Park

Tuesday, July 7, 10:30 AM – 11:30 AM
Seal House at Roger Williams Park

Join Rhode Island Audubon Society’s Stormwater Innovation Center for a guided walking tour of Roger Williams Park and discover how innovative stormwater management practices are helping improve water quality, reduce flooding, support wildlife habitat, and create healthier communities.

During this easy walk around Roosevelt Lake, participants will visit green infrastructure installations, learn about local water quality challenges and solutions, and hear about ongoing research and volunteer opportunities.

What to expect:

• Estimated 45 minute guided walk (approximately 0.75 miles)

• Learn about stormwater, urban ponds, and watershed health

• Meet SIC staff and volunteers

• Refreshments and informal Q&A

No science background is needed. Whether you’re a community member, educator, conservation volunteer, or simply curious about the environment, this tour offers a fun and engaging way to experience the park while learning about local water resources.

Free and open to the public. Please wear comfortable walking shoes and plan for approximately one hour of being outdoors. We will meet at the seal house.

Join us for a Partner Peace Walk tomorrow at 12 PM! All are welcome to take a stroll with us and @nonviolenceinstitute to connect, talk, and enjoy the outdoors – meet at the Boathouse at Roger Williams Park. These walks take place every Friday, except for holidays.
THANK YOU to everyone who made Rosé in the Roses so memorable! Last Thursday, we celebrated the Conservancy and community, while giving a bittersweet send-off to RWPC’s outgoing board chair, Joe Pari.

Shout-out to @theprovidencedrumtroupe and @thesoundofgravity for filling the Botanical Center with magical sights and sounds – we can’t be the only ones still humming Pink Pony Club, right? 🤩 And to talented musicians Ashley Frith and @luisgilbertord for serenading guests throughout the night!

Stay tuned for a part-2 recap highlighting the rest of our amazing vendors and sponsors who made this year’s event one for the books!
