Sisters Circle Up by Raffini

All events from 5:30-8:30 p.m.
  • 2/28: for women ages 19-35 at the Gateway Center, Roger Williams Park
  • 3/6: for women ages 36-59 at the Gateway Center, Roger Williams Park
  • 3/13: for women ages 60+  at the Gateway Center, Roger Williams Park
  • 3/19: All Sisters Circle Up at Southside Cultural Center, RI – ALL AGES.  393 Broad StreetProvidence, RI, 02907

Sisters Circle Up is a space for women with connections to Roger Williams Park to get together to share memory, lived histories, and peace practices. Join storyteller and story collector Raffini as she leads participants through a memory practice as she captures the stories of sisters and their narratives of Roger Williams Park.

This work will be the research and engagement Raffini will use to create her final commemorative work for The Providence Commemoration Lab at the end of this summer.

Note: Dinner and childcare will be provided. The Gateway Center is ADA accessible.
By coming to these events you are agreeing to be photographed. The documentation will be used by Raffini for her research and maybe in producing the installation for PCL.

As the seasons begin to change, it`s a great time to reconnect with the natural world and slow down. We`re excited to partner with the @rwpbotanicalcenter to offer a free Forest Bathing (Shinrin Yoku) session on September 19 at 10 AM with Lee Ann. This guided experience invites you to breathe deeply, notice your surroundings, and open your senses to the sights, sounds, textures, and rhythms of the forest.

Lee Ann Freitas is the director of the Botanical Center and a Certified Forest Therapist, horticulturist, and a hardcore advocate for all things nature. She creates a welcoming and peaceful environment for participants to slow down, connect with nature, and be present.

The session is free, but registration is limited – sign up online (link in bio)!
