Join a FREE workshop at the Botanical Center to learn about permaculture favorite, Hugelkultur (pronounced Hoo-gul-culture), which means hill culture or hill mound. They hold moisture, build fertility, maximize surface volume, and are great spaces for growing fruit, vegetables and herbs. Hugelkultur beds typically require no irrigation or fertilization as they use rotting wood, twigs, branches and even whole trees that would otherwise be discarded.

This workshop is free thanks to the URI Master Gardener program. Registration is required. Pre-register 24 hours in advance by emailing [email protected].

Take a moment to unwind and spend time with other people during two Mental Health Mornings on the calendar this winter: February 12 and March 14, 9-10 AM.

Join us for an hour of calm in the magical space of the @rwpbotanicalcenter with a relaxed session guided by health expert Sandra Victorino, co-founder of the Latino Mental Health Network of Rhode Island with her own practice. Each session is free, but registration (link in bio) is required to keep the group to a reasonable size.

Hope to see you there!
