A newly released book of poems called Club Desire, born from the salt + smog breeze of upper Narragansett Bay, is animate for one night of multimedia performances by Laura Lamb Brown-Lavoie, Shaffany Terrell, Muggs Fogarty, Shey Rivera Ríos, Kei Soares Cobb, Vatic Kuumba, and Kelly-Chava in the Temple of Music on Earth Day.
Join Laura for a queer trespass into the gentleman’s club of the Industrial Age, where we undress our extractive ways of relating to one another and the earth, and face dawn in the come-down of the great burn.
Club Desire is the inaugural book length publication from Providence’s own BINCH PRESS. This handmade book is available in a limited run of 150 copies— pre-order yours today here: https://forms.gle/FPtAqivCQNsPF4Qy9
The show is free and open to the public, with a suggested donation of $0-$30 to support the production and the artists. Bring small bills to tip the Guyrlz! No one will be turned away for lack of funds.
The Temple of Music is an open air venue, and we ask all audience members to wear a mask during the show.

Special thanks to RISCA, Providence’s Office of Arts Culture and Tourism, Brown Arts Initiative, The Roger Williams Park Conservancy, the Providence Poetry Slam, New Urban Arts, the Providence Public Library, and the many other humans, spirits, and bodies of water that made this show possible!

Take a moment to unwind and spend time with other people during two Mental Health Mornings on the calendar this winter: February 12 and March 14, 9-10 AM.

Join us for an hour of calm in the magical space of the @rwpbotanicalcenter with a relaxed session guided by health expert Sandra Victorino, co-founder of the Latino Mental Health Network of Rhode Island with her own practice. Each session is free, but registration (link in bio) is required to keep the group to a reasonable size.

Hope to see you there!
