Planetarium Show

Saturdays & Sundays @ 2:00 pm – 2:30 pm

Located in the Museum of Natural History, the planetarium is a dome theater with a Zeiss projector that casts images of stars, planets and constellations to simulate the night sky. Planetarium show tickets must be purchased online using our online ticketing system. Museum admission does not include the Planetarium.  Building renovations and system improvements are starting in April 2023. Please be patient during construction. Please note: there are no planetarium shows April 8-24 due to building work. 

Planetarium Information

  • Show lasts approximately 30 minutes.
  • Planetarium show tickets MUST be purchased online.
  • Show offering subject to change.
  • For safety reasons, planetarium show ticket holders are not permitted to enter the Planetarium once the show has begun. Please plan to arrive at least 15 minutes prior to the show start time to check-in for the Planetarium show.
  • Children must be age 4 and older to enter the Planetarium. Children age 15 and under must be accompanied by an adult to enter the Planetarium.

Cost is $3.00 per person, which includes admission to the Museum. Space is limited, so early arrival to purchase tickets is recommended. Shows last approximately 35 minutes. The planetarium is only open during showtimes. Please note: Entry to the planetarium is not permitted once the show has begun. Children under age 4 are not permitted in the planetarium.

Whether you're a mom, or appreciate a mom in your life, we want to see you at a film screening of No Country for Mothers on October 22 at 6 PM!

Roger Williams Park Conservancy is hosting a screening of this impactful documentary created by @momsfirstus about what motherhood looks like in America today, at the @rwpbotanicalcenter. 

Joining us for the screening and a Q&A panel after the film are representatives from local organizations @collectiveactionri, @rikidscount, and @unitedwayri. This open dialogue and opportunity for resource-sharing is designed to embody the film's premise: that motherhood in America is not a private struggle but a collective one.

Calling all beginning and aspiring photographers: join us for a fun and informative fall foliage mobile photography workshop, where Roger Williams Park will be your subject! 

Local photographer and RWPC Program Manager José Ramirez (@jram9808) will offer his expertise and instruction before encouraging participants to explore and apply newly learned techniques to capture the beauty of the Park during the fall season! All you need is the camera on your phone.

This workshop is open to ages 10+, and those under 14 must be accompanied by an adult. This limited-capacity event is capped at 15 people, so RSVP to reserve your ticket before they run out (link in bio)!

Head over to the Temple to Music next Wednesday, September 30, from 12-2 PM to make art inspired by the beauty of the park! Julie Gearan hosts a free art activity, Slow Looking in Color and Line, with all the supplies provided. All experience levels are welcome!
