Movies in the Park: Groovin’ Summer Movies

Movies in the Park with Providence Children’s Film Fest returns to the Boathouse Lawn with a brand-new theme: Groovin’ Summer Movies! 

These toe-tapping, music-forward films are great for all ages, and as always, screenings are totally free to attend (popcorn included!). Happening on the first Fridays of every month through September, you can also swing by Food Truck Friday with for dinner before laying out a blanket for movie night. Films begin when the sun sets. Stay tuned for details about karaoke happening before each film!

June 5: Hairspray (2007 version)
July 3: Sing
August 7: Lion King (2019 version)
September 4: Happy Feet

As the seasons begin to change, it's a great time to reconnect with the natural world and slow down. We're excited to partner with the @rwpbotanicalcenter to offer a free Forest Bathing (Shinrin Yoku) session on September 19 at 10 AM with Lee Ann. This guided experience invites you to breathe deeply, notice your surroundings, and open your senses to the sights, sounds, textures, and rhythms of the forest. 

Lee Ann Freitas is the director of the Botanical Center and a Certified Forest Therapist, horticulturist, and a hardcore advocate for all things nature. She creates a welcoming and peaceful environment for participants to slow down, connect with nature, and be present.

The session is free, but registration is limited – sign up online (link in bio)!
