MNH STEAM Family Fun Weekend

November 18th & 19th @ 10:00 am – 4:00 pm

Celebrate STEAM Month with hands-on activities around the Museum of Natural History and Planetarium, exploring science, technology, engineering, art and math.  Make a bridge, explore gravity, discover the James Webb Space Telescope, complete a special quest and MORE.

Cost:  Free with museum admission

Planetarium show tickets must be purchased ONLINE HERE  
Cost: $5 per person (includes museum admission). Children must be age 4 and older to enter the planetarium.
2:00pm:  Flight Adventures Fulldome Planetarium Show

Discover the science of flight through the eyes of a young girl and her grandfather as they explore how birds, kites, planes and models fly. Learn about the history and future plans of flight and how NASA is discovering new and safer ways to travel with the help of future engineers and aviators – like YOU! The program is followed by a brief tour of the night sky using the planetarium’s Zeiss star projector. (General audience)

We`re so excited to welcome Julie Gearan back for another Slow Looking in Color and Line workshop at Roger Williams Park! This time, we`re gathering at the Rose Garden (near the Elmwood Ave. entrance, and across the street from the Betsey Williams Cottage) on Sunday, October 18, 12-2 PM.

Just bring yourself, your creative spirit, and a chair (if you`d like) to this free drawing workshop. All experience levels welcome, and supplies are provided!

Roger Williams Park Conservancy is hosting a screening of this impactful documentary created by @momsfirstus about what motherhood looks like in America today, at the @rwpbotanicalcenter.

Joining us for the screening and a Q&A panel after the film are representatives from local organizations @collectiveactionri, @rikidscount, and @unitedwayri. This open dialogue and opportunity for resource-sharing is designed to embody the film`s premise: that motherhood in America is not a private struggle but a collective one.
