Event Series: Fossil Frenzy Weekend

From the Coal Age to the Ice Age, the Museum of Natural History’s collection of fossil specimens brings the past to life! Join in the festivities and see fossilized plants and animals that once roamed the Earth.

10am-4pm: Fossil Fun Activities
Cost: Free with museum admission
Displayed fossils from the museum’s vaults, special fossil quest, fossil puzzle, make your own trilobite mask and more.

1pm-3pm: Fantastic Fossils
Cost: Free with museum admission
From ferns to trilobites, speak with resident paleontologist to see and learn about fossils.

2pm: Cosmic Collisions Planetarium Show
Cost: $3 per person (includes museum admission).
Take a thrilling trip through space and time, well beyond the calm face of the night sky, to explore cosmic collisions, hypersonic impacts that drive the dynamic and continuing evolution of the universe. Show produced by the American Museum of Natural History.
Note: Children must be age 4 and older to enter the planetarium.

National Fossil Day is a celebration organized to promote public awareness and stewardship of fossils, as well as to foster a greater appreciation of their scientific and educational value.

Skip a trip to the grocery store and head to the RWP Gateway Center this Saturday, August 1, 9 AM-12 PM, for the @africanallianceofrhodeisland Pop-Up Farmers Market, and support local farmers!

Shop locally grown produce, farm-fresh eggs, and seasonal fruits, and enjoy music from DJ Flip and learn more about community resources. WIC, SFMNP, SNAP (Double Up Food Bucks), Square, and more are accepted.
