Are you ready to make an impact in your community?
You are invited to participate in a Listening Session and Focus Group in Providence!
We are a team of researchers from the University of Rhode Island and Rhode Island School of Design spearheading an exciting project on Nature-based Solutions (NbS), funded by the U.S. National Science Foundation (Award number: 2418376). Nature-based Solutions (NbS) are strategies that mimic or harness natural processes to address issues such as extreme weather events, heat, and limited access to safe places to exercise or recreate. The project was reviewed and approved by the University of New Hampshire Institutional Review Board under (IRB #: IRB-FY2025-1).
What’s in Store?
- Location: Roger Williams Park Gateway Center, 1197 Broad St, Providence, RI 02905
- Date: May 29, 5:00-7:30 pm
- Duration: Approximately 2 hours of facilitated dialogue; you will be asked to respond to questions about how you access and use NbS in your community.
- Compensation: If you complete the Focus Group questions, you may be eligible to receive a $40 Visa gift card. Snacks and beverages will be provided.
- Eligibility:Participants must be between 18-89 years old, live in or serve one of the designated ENACTS neighborhoods (See Map); be able to speak English, and be able to travel to the community meeting site. *Participants must be legal U.S. tax residents (if you would like to be eligible to receive a Gift Card). Participants must provide informed consent prior to participating in the focus group portion of the research study.
