April Vacation Earth Celebration at RWP Museum
April 12 – 18th, 10:00 am – 4:00 pm

Discover the diversity of our amazing planet, past and present!  Explore what makes our planet so special with activity tables, crafts and daily planetarium shows (ages 4 and older, $5) at 2pm. From the ground under your feet to the sky above, come celebrate planet Earth with the Museum of Natural History and Planetarium in Roger Williams Park. 

 

Special Earth Week Happenings:
10am-4pm: Earth Family Fun
Cost: Free with museum admission
Explore a variety of family-friendly, hands-on activities related to our local and global ecosystem. 

2pm: Our Place in Space Planetarium Show
There’s no place like home! Begin your journey from right here on Earth as we venture from the museum for a whirlwind trip through the solar system. Take an unforgettable tour through our cosmic neighborhood as you explore the craters of Mercury, stormy Neptune and discover why Earth is so unique. The adventure does not end there as we explore nebulae and star clusters of our Milky Way Galaxy. (General Audience)

Cost: Planetarium show ticket (includes Museum admission) is $5/Museum Members Free/Children MUST be age 4 and older.   Planetarium show tickets must be purchased ONLINE.  Choose carefully and then confirm your selection, as all selections/sales are final. For safety reasons, Planetarium ticketholders are not permitted to enter the Planetarium once the show has begun.

It’s not every board meeting that you get to meet a tamandua! 😍

This curious critter made an appearance at the RWPC Board Meeting this morning at the @rwpzoo Education Center. Huge thank you to Amy Roberts, Andrea Stein, Anthony Polite, and Kim Warren from the Zoo team for letting us meet Oblio and sharing so many interesting facts about the tamandua (a type of anteater!). Oblio brought many professional insights to the meeting, too 🐜

Visit the Zoo to learn more about tamanduas and other amazing animals!

Winter walks 🍂> January blues 🥶 Take a walk with us at Roger Williams Park! We visited the trail along Elm Lake near the softball field – a short, easy trail with stunning frosty lake views (especially during golden hour) and woodsy path. Shout-out to @pvdparks for maintaining the many beautiful trails at the Park!

Before hitting the trail, please note that the only way to access this path is via the Park Avenue entrance while Maple Avenue and Pine Hill Avenue are currently closed. Find parking along Frederick C. Green Memorial Blvd. right when you turn into the park!

Can’t make it tomorrow? Winter Bird Walks also take place February 14 and March 14!
