National Astronomy Day Celebration

Saturday April 29th, 12:30 – 3:30

Shows at 1:00 & 2:00 PM

Join us on Saturday, April 29, as we celebrate National Astronomy Day co-hosted by Skyscrapers, Inc. (Amateur Astronomical Society of RI), and the Museum of Natural History and Planetarium.  Activities kick-off at the Museum of Natural History in Roger Williams Park and will run from 12:30-3:30pm with planetarium shows at 1pm and 2pm (planetarium show tickets must be purchased online), public solar observing and astronomy activities.

White light, hydrogen alpha, and projection telescopes will be set up in front of the museum for viewing the magnificent details of the sun.  Skyscrapers members and museum staff will be presenting activity tables that will include: Beginner Astronomy, the James Webb Space Telescope and the Effects of Light Pollution. Activities from 12:30pm-3:30pm and Sky Views planetarium show at 1pm and 2pm.

Please remember planetarium show tickets must be purchased online!

Enjoy live performances, inspiring speakers, family-friendly fun, and a day dedicated to bringing people together in peace and solidarity. Visitors will also have the opportunity to visit the Peace Bench, dedicated to survivors of violence and presented by Safer Communities for Justice. Bring your family, friends, and positive energy as we stand together for unity, hope, and safer communities for all.
