We had a blast at last Thursday`s @firstworksri Summer Beats Concert! The weather held out for us, and @lasguaracheras had everyone on their feet by the end of the show. Thank you to all who came out and made it spectacular! ๐Ÿ’ƒ๐ŸŽต

Born on June 29, 1790, today marks the birthday of Betsey Williams โ€“ she and her sister Rhoda, who were known for their hospitality, may have celebrated the occasion with a lively fete in their cottage in the woods. Built in 1773, the restored cottage is still standing!

Betsey was the daughter of John and Mary Williams, and the great-great-great granddaughter of Roger Williams. She would go on to donate the land that is now Roger Williams Park to the City of Providence! ๐ŸŒณ

๐Ÿ“Add the Betsey Williams Cottage to your strolling route, and learn more about the historic home (the oldest structure in the Park!) on our website!
