The Roger Williams Park Conservancy offers several FREE opportunities to explore and learn more about the Park this month. Put on some comfortable walking shoes and get out to explore with us!

Stormwater Management Tour

Meet at the Dalrymple Boathouse (map)
Roger Williams Park has embarked on an ambitious project to improve overall water quality, which includes the design and installation of 35 stormwater management sites that filter stormwater and run off in different ways before it reaches the Park’s ponds and waterways. Join the Roger Williams Park Conservancy and Brian Byrnes, Deputy Superintendent of the Providence Parks Department, for a free walking tour to explore some of the Park’s recently installed stormwater sites. Tour will move at a moderate pace.

Nature Walk
Saturday, September 21 | 9:00-10:30 AM
Meet at the Museum of Natural History (map)
Join the museum’s curator for free monthly guided walks of Roger Williams Park and learn how to identify seasonal wildflowers and better understand urban ecology. From milkweed to monarchs, gain a greater appreciation for the surprising diversity of urban wildlife. Bring binoculars if you have them. Recommended for ages 6 and older. Pets are not permitted. “Off the Beaten Path” Tree Tour
Wednesday, September 25 | 5:30-7:00 PM
Meet at the Dalrymple Boathouse (map)
Roger Williams Park’s 435 acres are home to over 5,000 trees and a variety of species. Join the Roger Williams Park Conservancy and Providence City Forester Doug Still for a free walking tour to explore interesting trees in less visited landscapes, including along the Big Lakes Trail. Tour will move at a moderate pace.

Join us tomorrow for a free Mobile Photography Workshop at Roger Williams Park! 🌸 All you need is your phone camera and a passion for capturing the beauty of the park in spring! RWPC Program Manager José Ramirez (@jram9808) leads this fun and informative workshop.

The Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey® Hype Crew will bring a preview of The Greatest Show On Earth® to Food Truck Friday at Roger Williams Park, kicking off this summer’s Movies in the Park series on May 8! You will be treated to a high-energy mini performance featuring a variety of acts, including unicycles, jump rope acrobatics, balancing, and more – all building excitement for @ringling’s return to Providence!

This Friday, grab a bite to eat at 5 PM from one of the amazing food trucks at Carousel Village, and then head over to the Boathouse lawn (just across the street) for the Ringling Bros. preview show at 5:30 PM. Stick around to see The Greatest Showman at 8 PM!
