Richard Deming Memorial

The Richard H. Deming Memorial is the only memorial to someone affiliated with the City of Providence. 

Richard H. Deming was one of the first presidents of the Providence Board of Park Commissioners, from 1892 to 1902. Commissioner Deming oversaw the construction of the Boathouse and the Casino. The City of Providence invested in the memorial to thank him for his service to the city. This bronze monument, cast nearby at Gorham Manufacturing, originally overlooked Roosevelt Lake and the Casino.
