Saturday Art Class: Plein air painting

The Class:

Roger Williams Park Conservancy invites artists of all skill levels to join local artist Kathy Hodge for Saturday morning art instruction and plein air painting. The Park will be your subject! The instructor will meet with your class, then you will spend time in the Park painting. Bring your own painting supplies and easel. Also, please bring your own lawn or camping chair.

Classes are capped at 15 people.ย  Attendees are asked to wear a face covering and maintain a 6-foot distance from non-family members during the class.

Times and Days:

8:00 A.M. โ€“ 12:00 P.M. Saturday, July 25 (rain date TBD).ย  Please bring a snack and water.

We may announce additional classes in August.

Location:

Classes will start at the Dalrymple Boathouse.

The Instructor:

Kathy Hodge is a locally based, RISD-educated visual artist. She has served as the artist-in-residence at 13 national parks and has been shown in galleries across New England.ย  In 2017 she was awarded the Painting Fellowship from the Rhode Island State Council on the arts.ย  See her work at www.kathyhodge.com.

Price:

The suggested donation for this class is $25.ย  Financial support for the class is provided in part by the City of Providence Parks Department and Department of Arts, Culture, and Tourism.
