These special Yoga sessions will focus on gently and lovingly balancing our minds, bodies, & breath. We will explore gentle movement through physical poses, slow flow Vinyasa, stretches, breathing exercises, active rest and guided meditations. This class intends to be an accessible, inclusive, and welcoming space for all bodies and all people wanting to explore different parts of a yoga practice while embracing our connection with the natural world. All of these sessions are weather permitting & held outside in the park so please dress in a way that is comfortable for you and appropriate for the weather of the day.
You are welcome to bring a mat and/or any props (examples- beach towels, books, blocks, blankets, extra layers of clothing, etc.) that best support you.
These sessions are for all people 16 and older. See you in the park!
About the Instructor
Ellary (she/her) (200HR RYT, Restorative Level II, Skill in Action Social Justice Yoga Teacher Training 500HR in progress) has been teaching Yoga since 2014 and wants to create spaces and opportunities where you could emobdy freedom and practice radical self love on and off the mat. She believes movement, meditation, rest, and breathwork can support us in the times we are living in and incorporates somatic body movements, deep rest, and trauma informed practices into all of her classes. She believes yoga is for all bodies and wants to create accessible and inclusive spaces that allow for transformation and expansion. She has an accessible yoga teaching certification from the Accessible Yoga Training School. Yoga is the way for her to be in and of service in our community and be an agent for social change. She would love to talk to you about Mudras, horror movies and/or your furry companions anytime!

Venue

Have you seen green Adirondack chairs appearing in Roger Williams Park? With funding from the @aarplivable #aarpcommunitychallenge grant program and the hard work of @pvdparks to install them, these Conversation Nooks invite visitors to sit, unwind, and connect with neighbors and loved ones.

Find four spots along Frederick C. Green Memorial Blvd. and near the Museum of Natural History and Planetarium.

Even in the winter months, we hope these seating nooks will offer a few moments of reprieve in the outdoors when neighbors need it most.
A friendly heads up to Park-goers: Maple and Pine avenues at Cladastris Avenue are temporarily closed for approximately 4-6 weeks, limiting vehicle access to Park Avenue via FC Greene Memorial Boulevard.

This temporary closure makes way for boardwalk construction at Cunliff Lake, a public access project that will enhance recreational opportunities at Roger Williams Park!

During this period, traffic will be detoured to park entrance and exit locations at Broad Street and Montgomery Avenue and Elmwood Avenue. Drivers using the Elmwood Avenue exit will follow Cladastris Avenue to FC Greene Memorial Boulevard to Linden Avenue to Elmwood Avenue south to Park Avenue east. Those using the Broad Street and Montgomery Avenue exit will follow Cladastris Avenue to Montgomery Avenue to Broad Street south to Warwick Avenue south to Park Avenue west.

Pedestrian and bicycle access will remain open. However, visitors are advised to follow posted signage and respect all barriers, as a crane will be active weekdays from 7AM to 3PM.

For updates and more information about the project, follow @pvdparks
Thanks to everyone who came out to the RWP Winter Wonderland this past Saturday! From cookies and hot cocoa to a visit from the big man in red, there was much merry-making to be had! Bundle up and swing by Roger Williams Park any evening this month to see all the twinkling lights. πŸŽ„
