Connect at the Temple to Music with ancestral wisdom through Afro-Latin Dance! Learn choreography for our upcoming activist dance opera, The Historical Fantasy of Esek Hopkins, while also learning about the embodied history of Mande, West African, Afrobeats, Dancehall, Salsa, Merengue, Bachata, Vogue and Hip Hop dance styles.

All bodies are welcome — crying babies, youth, chosen families, mothers, fathers, elders, BIPOC folks and LGBTQ+ folks. Come late, leave early, or ignore all directions and do your own thing. Haus of Glitter classes are an invitation for you to love your body. Bring water and a yoga mat (and/or towel or blanket) to practice.

ASSITAN ‘SITA’ COULIBALY (she) is a Malian-American dancer, choreographer, and writer based in Providence, Rhode Island. Assitan began training in West African dance with New Works/World Traditions at Brown University with whom she has performed and travelled worldwide.

MATTHEW ROLANDO GARZA (he + they) is a Queer Tejanx/Latinx performance artist, Contemporary Afro-Latin choreographer, healer & educator. Garza’s work explores the relationship between the individual human body and the collective body.
