Gentle Yoga at the Park
Mondays, July 13 – September 7 (no yoga on August 31), 6 PM
Outside the Betsey Williams Cottage
These special outdoor yoga sessions led by Ellary Gamache will focus on gently and lovingly stretching and embracing our minds, bodies, and breath. We will explore gentle movement through physical poses (asana), slow flow style Hatha Vinyasa, breathing exercises, principles of active rest and guided meditations. This class intends to be an accessible, inclusive, and welcoming space for all bodies and all humans wanting to explore a yoga practice while embracing our connection to the natural world. All of these sessions are weather permitting and held outside in Roger Williams Park, so please dress in a way that is comfortable for you and suitable for you to enjoy being outdoors.
You are welcome to bring a mat and/or any props (beach towels, books, blocks, blankets, extra layers of clothing, etc.) that best support you.
These sessions are for adults 18 and older.
About the Instructor
Ellary Gamache (she/her) (500HR RYT, Restorative Level II, Skill in Action Social Justice Yoga Graduate) has been teaching yoga since 2014 and wants to create spaces and opportunities where you could embody freedom and practice radical self love on and off the mat. She believes movement, meditation, rest, and breathwork can support us in the times we are living in and incorporates somatic body movements, deep rest, and trauma informed practices into all of her classes. She believes yoga is for all bodies and wants to create accessible and inclusive spaces that allow for transformation and expansion. She has an accessible yoga teaching certification from the Accessible Yoga Training School and teaches Restorative at West Side Yoga in Providence (at 108 studio). Yoga is the way for her to be in and of service in our community and be an agent for social change.
