RWP Museum Observe the Moon Weekend

Join the Museum of Natural History and Planetarium in Roger Williams Park for International Observe the Moon Weekend! This global event invites citizens around the world to observe and learn more about our Moon. Visitors of all ages will enjoy educational and engaging activities.

Weekend Museum Moon Fun:
10am-4pm: Learn about the formation of craters, challenge yourself with Moon trivia, find out what it takes to go to the Moon, and complete a Moon museum quest
Cost: Free with Museum admission
Museum admission (does not include planetarium show ticket) is $2/Museum Members Free/free for children age 3 and younger.

Moon Weekend Planetarium Shows:
2:00pm: NEW! FORWARD! TO THE MOON Fulldome Planetarium Show
NASA’s 21st century Artemis program is the next step in our mission to explore the universe and land the first woman and person of color on the surface of the Moon. Join us on a journey beyond the Earth towards a sustainable future in space.
Cost: Planetarium show ticket (includes Museum admission) is $5/Museum Members Free/Children MUST be age 4 and older. EVERYONE ATTENDING THE PLANETARIUM SHOW NEEDS A TICKET. Children must be age 4 and older to attend a planetarium show. Children age 15 and under must be accompanied by an adult. Please plan to arrive at least 15 minutes prior to the show start time to check-in for the planetarium show. FOR SAFETY REASONS, TICKETHOLDERS ARE NOT PERMITTED TO ENTER THE PLANETARIUM ONCE THE SHOW HAS BEGUN. Planetarium show is 30 minutes. Planetarium show tickets must be purchased ONLINE. Choose carefully and then confirm your selection, as all selections/sales are final.

Saturday, October 4, 7:30pm-8:30pm: Moon Hike at North Burial Ground.
Cost: Free. Please wear comfortable, sturdy shoes for this moderately strenuous walk. Pets and strollers are not permitted.

Our outgoing Board Chair Joe Pari went for a boat ride with us to talk about the history of Roger Williams Park, the founding of the Conservancy, some favorite memories and projects, and of course, Rosé in the Roses on June 11 at the Botanical Center!🌹
